President’s Message

Unipulse was established by a handful of young engineers including myself in 1970, with an aspiration to create unique products using our pulse (digital) circuit technologies.

From the very start, we have been specializing in stress measurement using strain gauge and force and weight measurement by loadcell. Especially for weighing indicators, we were the pioneer in the world to commercialize them.
Since then, with technology expertise we have developed a number of products such as; digital indicators which helps press-fitting and caulking etc. to be performed with optimal load; contactless capacitive displacement sensors, and rotating torque meters .
The rotating torque meter in particular has become the standard of shaft type torque measurement, and has been used at great deal of development and manufacturing sites.
In recent years, we have started in-house manufacturing of strain gauges, and are advancing the development of new load cells tailored to diverse applications, including screw-type and silicone-free types.
Furthermore, we pour our efforts into the development and the sales of various robots such as a torque actuator UNISERVO and an intelligent assist balancer Moon Lifter etc.
Especially, the intelligent balancer can assist transferring heavy objects with operation feeling with human hands as one likes. It has been receiving a favorable reception from many customers due to its excellent handleability never seen before.
Unipulse will continue it’s efforts to place the highest priority to R&D, and is committed to keep introducing the Japan’s first and the world’s first products.

Business Outline

Unipulse is a sensor manufacturer.

We manufacture sensors such as loadcells and torque meters using our high-accuracy strain gauges. Our weighing indicators are widely used for auto-weighing machines such as Dosing machines, Filling machines, Packer scale, Hopper scale, Weigh bridges, Belt weighers and so on.
Rotating torque sensor is a newly developed hit-item. It is used to test rotational parts such as motors and engines.
Above mentioned Weighing indicators, Force indicators, Loadcells and Torque meters make up the majority of our sales.
In addition, Unipulse has CMS (Cart management system) business as well.
CMS (Car management system) is a sorting system used for logistics, our technology is leveraged for a cart which has an accurate weight scale.
Our CMS enables speedy and accurate sorting by giving appropriate instructions to operators via wireless LAN.
Direct selling (without depending on trading companies) is our primary sales approach to be a close partner for our customers.
We also cover oversea market with sales office located in key countries, providing repair services and so on.
To supply and develop our new products, “UNISERVO (Geared servo motor with output torque control)” and “Moon Lifter (Electric balancer)”, ROBOTEC Inc. was established.

Torque Meter
“UTM” Series
A torque sensor that measures the torque of a rotating shaft.
A strain gauge, amplifier, and AD converter are mounted on the rotating shaft to immediately digitize minute strain signals and a patent has been obtained for this groundbreaking invention that digitally transmits the signals to a fixed part.
UTM achieved conflicting capabilities such as compact & lightweight, high accuracy, high-speed response, high rpm compatibility, and high durability at the same time, overturning the common sense of torque measurement of the time of its launch.
Made possible various torque measurements that were difficult to achieve with conventional torque meters at the time, significantly contributing to the advancement of manufacturing technology. It received the Excellence Award at the Tokyo Venture Technology Awards (2014) and the Good Design Award (2014).
Load Cell A sensor that measures force using strain gauges.
Offers a wide lineup ranging from 100 gf (1 N) to 100 ton (1 MN).
Load cells using strain gauges enable stable measurement against temperature changes and are widely used from R&D to mass production equipment. They include high-rigidity, fast-response load cells for force measurement (FA use) and high-precision load cells for weighing measurement.
Received the Invention Award Merit Prize together with strain gauges (2021).
Weighing Measurement A load cell indicator featuring high stability, with built-in control functions for configuring automatic weighing systems such as batching scales, liquid filling machines, packer scales, hopper scales, truck scales, and belt scales.
Force Measurement An indicator that measures forces at high speed during machine`s assembly processes such as press fitting, caulking, press working, and capping, judges whether processes such as press fitting and caulking have been performed correctly, and transmits the results to an upper-level system.
The wave comparator function, which compares waveforms of force vs. displacement or force vs. time to determine pass/fail, is the industry standard.
Amplifiers An amplifier that generates bridge voltage to drive load cells, amplifies minute load signals, and outputs an analog voltage.
High stability, low noise, and fast response — ideal for use with oscilloscopes and data loggers.
Ideal for research and development applications.
Peripheral & Others Printers that can issue receipts when connected to indicators, wireless transmission devices, and other accessories.
Displacement Measurement Our displacement sensor product line includes capacitive type with 1nm resolution and non-contact fiber optic type with 3MHz bandwidth. Those are used for ultra-precision positioning, gap measurement, runout measurement, flatness measurement, vibration measurement, and more.
Preventive Maintenance Decive for Machine Tools Preventive maintenance devices for ensuring the stable operation of machine tools.
UNICLAMP can safely and remotely measure the clamping pull force of clamping units; UNICHUCK can safely and remotely measure the gripping force of chucks.
GRIP MASTER can measure the tool gripping force of tool holders, and is used to prevent machining accuracy degradation and tool drop caused by reduced gripping force in tool holders.

Torque Actuator
“UNISERVO”
A torque actuator that controls the torque measured by a rotating torque meter on the output shaft using a servo motor with a reducer. Thanks to the built-in reducer, it is compact yet generates large torque.
The torque control resolution reaches 1/10,000, achieving delicate torque control.
Received the Tokyo Venture Technology Excellence Award (2015), the Monozukuri Parts Grand Prize Encouragement Award (2015), the Electrical Science and Technology Encouragement Award (2016), and the Invention Award Invention Merit Prize (2018).

Electric Balancer
“Moon Lifter”
A suspended power assist device that balances the weight of a lifted workpiece to virtually zero, allowing it to be handled with light force.
Offers a wide lineup from 40 kg to 1 ton, with HACCP specifications for the food industry and all-weather specifications. Various function customizations are available, and a function to cancel the inertia generated when moving a workpiece is standard equipment.
Received the SME Excellent New Technology/New Product Award Excellence Prize (2018), the Invention Award Tokyo Governor’s Prize (2021), and the Invention Award Merit Prize (2025).(ROBOTEC’s product)

1972 The office was re-located to 2-chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and the manufacturing of custom-made industrial measurement systems (equipments), and communication devices was started. Microwave devices and test devices for shipbuilding companies

Signal conditioners and indicators for load cells under our own brand were launched and the business was expanded to the weighing industry.
