This time, we are introducing the non-contact thickness meter "UMA-500-C", which is in combination with the capacitive type and the eddy current type thickness meters.

Even a film thickness measurement, which has been difficult to set conditions up until now, becomes easy by rough positioning!

Measurements in micron order are achievable just by bringing the probe close.

Conventional film thickness measurements:

  • require to contact with surfaces of films for the eddy current method
  • are capable of non-contact measurement, but require to fix it to keep a gap between an underlaying metal and a measurement probe constant for the capacitive method.

Neither methods are capable of using in "rough positioning" states such as at conveyors or with delivery robots.

 

Whereas, the non-contact thickness meter "UMA-500-C" is made as hybrid type!!

Just by roughly bringing the probe close to a film surface, a non-contact and precise film thickness measurement can be achieved.

  • Resin sheets
  • Insulating films such as capacitors and batteries
  • Coatings unable to be contacted

 

 

Even with a rough positioning, the measurement can be made precisely.

It is ideal for thickness measurements in environments where machinery moves frequently.
